As some will know and others will not, the issue over the hardware was a mainboard failure. I have had to pay for a new mainboard for the server, otherwise it wasnt going to be fixed. This morning I have the bill for the server housing rental arrive.

I would appreciate it if some of you could find your way to donate something you have spare via the donations box on the home page.

For those who are new or not aware, we have our own server co-located at a data center in Germany and this was paid for by contributions from The Void community last year. We run a dual xeon 3.0GHZ 1333 (5160) rack server.
The rental of this, bandwidth and website are paid for by me. You can see the donations made on the donations block (homepage). I am gratefull for any donations made and they help extend the life of The Void, community and our love for Freelancer.

Its been an expensive month and the bills will be paid, however, it would be nice to see some donations from the community please.They seem a bit few and far between for such a large community, and only one donation in 2 months warrants a "nudge" from me I think.

I'd to help a little bit too, but as well as Maverick I don't use credit cards. I know there's another way of donation and it was already posted up on forums some time ago, but can you tell us again?

on the home page of void www.voidserver.com on the left side is a donation box,
where you can donate money via paypal. For paypal you don't need a creditcard.
The registration is rather simple. Many community members used that tool to
donate for our server, which had a price of around 3000 USD.

Hi Strail, as I mentioned I will send a donation this week. It is a community that must stay together. As I posted in previous posts that I amongst others
have your back. Me and another voidian will make a paypal donation this week. Also for anyone stipulating that they dont USE credit cards. PAYPAL has a bank option, which you can add your bank account to your paypal. And in three days you will get 2 tiny deposits, which you need to confirm with paypal, to complete the authorization process. I use both but sometimes I don't like to pay un-necessary interest rates..

So even if you don't have a credit card, you can still use paypal.

Just thought you may like to know..

If you want to make your donation private through paypal rather than the website, then just send it to

I know, some dont want others to know what they have sent, so go in to your paypal account and just pay that email address - Ill email you a thank you on receipt.

As regards how much, I accept as little or as much people are happy to offer. Its important that people are happy to donate rather than feel obligated, this is why there have been no reminders for donations this year (iirc). I really dislike asking /reminding people that it all costs to run the show.
