would it be possible to make Demosthenes at least a little less bright? right now it's killing my eyes when i look at it for longer and makes it very difficult to fight, i can barely see  the opponent.

Yo mate, I have no problems with that. Try changing the setup of your monitor or better buying a new one.  Well, maybe you don't need to buy it, just try with another monitor.

If you got an NVidia Gcard, try turning the digital contrast down a bit. When turned up, it makes bright things look like they're on fire.

I agree with Darth because sometimes the planet is so bright your opponent doesn't show up when your fighting or just generally looking at a ship which is infront of the planet.
This includes AIs aswell.

thats why ,when fighting there, the best solution is to lure ur oponens 2 or more k from the planet
and in big fights it works, and the planet is much less a problem then

I bet you have an LCD monitor lol...if so it's your own fault for buying one of those awful things...

That said you could try reducing the gamma in the games options or by using your video drivers to reduce gamma (not brightness) you could also if you have the option with LCD (don't know so can't tell you) reduce the white colour temperature from 9300k to 6500k which will make everything slightly redder but not nearly as glared (9300k makes everything bluer and brighter) contrast is also an option as contrast is used to make bright things brighter while making dark things darker and to be blunt about it LCD monitors really stink at this (so do LCD tv's and plasma tvs the backlight required to operate the screens makes EVERYTHING too bright including the supposedly black areas) if you have the option to reduce the intensity of the backlight try that (my mate's LCD monitor has that feature but it cost a bomb and still makes me feel sick when watching anything on it)

well yea, i have an LCD monitor now, but only 'cuz the old CRT 1 was dieing out.
ok, i'll try browsing through the monitor options (didn't do thatt for FL yet), but i doubt that'll help because i've had a problem with anything very white-bright (lol) on the monitor. for example, i hated N1 back when it was blue, just 'cuz it was so bright (i had a decent CRT monitor back then).
