I have added the following to the top post. I can't believe I forgot to put this in:

PRIZE MONEY

What event would be complete with out prize money at stake. And since this is a big event there will be big money at stake. Also, I want everyone to be able to come away with some prize money equal to how well they did in the various contests, rather than just the top finishers getting the prizes. So, I am making prize money won related to the number of points earned.

Each player will receive 1000 credits for each point earned. To put it in perspective, in tournaments where players are awarded 100 points for advancing to the next level, each advance wins 100,000 credits. Players who win an event and earn 1000 bonus points also win 1,000,000 credits. Now, in case this is not obvious to anyone, since the number of players involved determines the number of rounds that must be played to determine a winner, naturally the amount of prize money also depends on the number of players. The more players, the more any one player can win.

Wow.  This sounds amazingly epic...

Too bad things are a bit hectic in RL right now...It's going to be really tough to make these events...

@shonen,
your char could be beamed by a [VOID] or [ADMIN] into the system where
it is needed. But careful, they could forget you and then you are stuck in the
middle of nowhere :D  :D

have fun

[quote="shonensan";p="184574"]As most of you know i don't like being part of events because.................. i can't take part in the run event because my computer crash when i enter a jump gate and i don't even know if i can take my ship in the EFZ.

Graphic card problem.

Well now that i think of it i can't even do the judge...lol whatever...[/quote]

Whoa. I would be very disappointed if you couldn't participate, Shone. You're one of the top competitors and it'd be a big loss if you weren't involved. Yes you could be beamed not only to the places where you could be judge, but you could also be beamed to the EFZ and wherever you needed to go to make your load-out changes. I don't see that as special treatment, I see it as working to be sure everyone can compete. I doubt anyone would have a problem with that.

But unless you compete in the race your chances of being Grand Champion are not good. So I would like to get more to the root of the problem. I am sending you a PM.

UPDATE:

After working on the bracket for the Double-Elimination PvP event, I have decided it would be better to hold a simple single-elimination event instead. A Double-Elimination tournament is great because it allows everyone a second chance. Even the best players can lose one. And some players lose one and then pull out some miraculous fights to end up winning. Double-Elimination adds more excitement.

Unfortunately, Double-Elimination also adds more than twice as many rounds to be fought. My concern is that with people from all over the world involved, and so many fights to be fought, some people will not be able to stay for all their fights. That would either cause everything to get messed up or some people would have to be disqualified for not being there. In either case that result would not be fair. Not to mention it would get very boring for all the people waiting for their next fight.

So we will have a simple elimination event for the Single PvP.

Also, I have decided to add one last event. I remember after every event I have either been a part of or managed, everyone always wants a final Free-For-All.

You got it.

Immediately following the end of the Great Race, after everyone has finished, there will be a mass battle, Total War. This is the chance for revenge and to make up points you may need. The last two fighters will win 500 points, and the last fighter left standing, so to speak, wins another 500. Since this is right after the race and since FFA's usually are over quickly, this will add very little time to the event but will add a lot of fun.

Some excellent event ideas indeed Watchwolf if you need any assistance in hosting them (ex a judge) i'd be more than glad to help out
This will surely attract a lot of players wich will definitely enjoy themself given the fact that they have a great variety of the events to choose from
Good luck hosting them

Let me know when you intend to hold this and family/work commitments prevailing I will be available to be a Marshall for your series of event.  I am prepared to standby for "beaming" duties and "ejecting" duties as and where required.  This is an ambitious event that will no doubt be a great success if properly organised.

Time to get the [EVENT] team working to full effect in this also.  Nice one.

Given the variety involved will there be one overall - Void Champion or will you maybe divide it into, lets say for example, three categories:

Best PvPer, Best Warrior, Best Survivor.... and so on:  Just a thought.  An Excellent Idea and one that could benefit from a good VOID / ADMIN presence.

There will be champions for each event... e.g. each event will have a definite winner. But the one player who accumulates the most points but doing well in all events will be crowned the Grand Champion.

For a while anyway. I intend this to be at least an annual event. Maybe twice a year if it catches on.

Officials will be needed to help keep an eye on the fights to ensure fair pay, "crowd control" with the players awaiting their turns, as waypoint judges for the race... to be sure each player docks at the waypoint. I will need one person to take my place if or when I cannot oversee the thing. Those duties will be to keep time for the survival event and the race, record results, call the next participants, and the like....and was hoping Zeb would be available. We have been known to work well together.

A suggestion for this:
Add kill bonuses, i believe that would encourage people to actually shoot others, not only fly around dodging shots and hoping the others would kill each other.
