Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
So lets say we have new player on void and he or she makes trading char and starts trading.
In a couple minutes 4-5 freelancers come and start killing him with no apparent reason.
He ask:why did you kill me?
Answer is usually:because we can,its a shooting game etc.
Then he gets killed 20 or so times or log off,not before swearing at attackers and get himself possible ban.
Is this the way VOID should welcome ppl?
If it is then we shouldn't expect much players to stay.
This is why i think freelancers can not act like Rogues.

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
Check my last post LIMAN, that'd fix that problem.
By the way, I'm not shouting at you, that's just how you have your name spelt. Haha :-??

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
I don't think that 4-5 Freelancers will join their forces to gang-rape a poor trader and if they do they'll risk a ban for abusive and harassing conduct.
Two years ago there was no such thing as a R tag and you would never see non-tagged players acting like Rogues
All has changed with the introduction of the R tag and the frags console list as everyone was creating an R char to boost their killing numbers. (like Greaver mentioned fragwhores ftw)
In my opinion they need to be re-educated into a more mannered conduct and the only way to do that is to remove that God damn R tag (just like it was in the old days of the Void)
Also replace the console frags list with the "Run Amok" "Killing Spree" "Godlike" etc etc messages even if this means that the bank commands, autobuy commands etc etc will dissapear.
It's not like you're to freakin lazy to buy ammo for your ship as for the bank command you can always ask a [FAQ] or any other player for help in a transfer in NY.

Exactly, and you know what happened most Freelancers created an R char to have an excuse for mass killingThis is why i think freelancers can not act like Rogues.

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
The thing is Burn, if we said ok [R] tag means nothing anymore, it'd just be like the [H] tag. It'd be unofficial, sure, but it'd be still there.
So, are we to go as far as to say that the wear a [R] tag is a bannable offence?
Just a wee clarification I would like :)

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
Wearing an [R] tag is like a synonym for being a fragwhore (in my opinion) The sad thing about it is that most of their victims are helpless traders flying a fat Armored Transport concluding into the increase of the frag numbers for the R but also ruining the fun for the gunned down victims.
When was the last time you heard a R mentioning gf after killing you? When? (YEs they are criminals and act alike but still enough is enough) What can be more lame to sneak behind a player and shoot him just for a fragkill (where's the honor in that)
Back in the days of the DTA everybody was creating a R char for frag kills (hell, even i had one lol) just untill things got out of hand and you could'n throw a needle into the Alex Gate zone without it being shot down into pieces.
(sadly it lead to a departure of many players aswell)
The good guys (Navy Military Police) were mostly in Sparta having a chit-chat about things and pvp-ing from time to time (and i can see nothing wrong with that) as a matter of fact i think it would be great if ppl would more interact with each other by asking for pvp thus creating a more friendlier and mannered environment for everyone to enjoy. (that's why i'm also asking for the "run amok" "godlike" et etc messages) Sadly they were neglecting the R situation in Alex and things got out of hand.
The [H] tag won't be necessary once the [R] tag will be erased.Maybe just using a H tag from time to time to kill some Pirates but at least pirates ask for a tax before opening fire on a player. If it was to compare a Pirate with a Rogue i'd say that the Pirate would be a puppy compared to a R wich would be a hellhound on rabbies.

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
So burn, you want [R] tag to be a bannable offence to wear?
I would like to see your views put into action buddy. The more your talking the more I'm liking.
And I think the eradication of the frags would be a reeeeeaaaaallllllyyy good idea. All that competitive "who's the best" pecking order c*** would be gone. And that godlike stuff that the Void used to have sounds like a lot of fun!

No, i just want it to be removed by the Admins thus changing things dramaticly into good for the Void.

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
But wouldn't you still have people flying around wearing [R] tags, even though its not one of the admins tags? [H] tag isn't one, yet there are quite a few out there...

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
Indeed but the [H] tagged players are suppose to hunt for the bad guys ONLY whilst R shoot each and everyone crossing their paths.
ANd yes players should not be allowed to have a [R] tag if it was after me as it is only causing trouble for this server. (you can compare it with a rl society in wich R are the unwanted criminals)
Yes it's a shooting server and it was a well mannered shoting server 2 years ago when there was no such thing as a R tag (sorry if i'm repeating myself)

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
my opinion:
1. Remove [R] tag, the [H] tag and [M] tag.
2. Let players make up RPs of theyre own.
3. Do NOT use the idea of Clan NPCs, it will only cause more coding.
4. Im a big fan of keeping things simple, so have clan RPs, have [X] tag and [T] tag.
5. Code more trade routes, so not all traders trading at the same place.
6. Make it hard being rich.

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
OK, I get you buddy.
So, should the [R] tag be banned? If it was, then should anybody who is constantly acting like an [R] be banned?
And should the Frag list be taken away? If so, should the "godlike" meesages be implemented back into the Void?
Comments...
Please out of courtesy don't react with aggresion if you think it shouldn't, thats not helping anything.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
*EDIT*
Wolfie, where were you when I made my big trade route speech! I agree 100%, making money should be hard and we should have to earn or rank and equipment, which is not the deal these days. Sorry for off topic haha...

Re: In-Game Tag Discussion
The debate here is whether or not to have a load of complicated tags or just a few in order to make it easy for new players and for some of our not so clever regulars. You could end up with a list of tags as long as the alphabet - POINTLESS. "Im an Anarchist[A] Battleship Chaos[C] Destroyer[D] Elite[E] Fighter[F] General[G] Hunter[H] Independant Junker[J] Killer [K] ........" and so on.
Within any system you need to have clear instructions for people to follow. Otherwise you end up with a place that has a handful of elites with nothing to do all day but shoot each other and massacre new players - and where is the fun in that? Oh of course apart from the Elites that get to say they are King of the Castle of course....Which under most circumstances you get to do anyway...don't you?
The reverse is also true - if you over regulate then you stifle the experience of learning from better players. Thats why a BALANCE needs to be reached and being sarcastic is not realy going to help is it?
To many brain farts will kill you - so be careful.....
