Where does this leads to?
Well, this topic concerns all players of Void, and it's staff too. We have 114 systems, that's just great! We have loads of planets in 3D systems, we have Nomad systems, we have 4 House systems, we have New systems(Sparta, EFZ, Alexandria etc).
Systems used always: Unknown 2, Nomad 1, New York, Alexandria, Sparta, Elite Fight Zone(EFZ), Dyson Sphere, Omicron Alpha
Systems used sometimes: Babylonia, Omicron Gamma, Tartarus, Tohoku, Event system
Systems used NEVER: California, Colorado, Texas, Magellan, Manchester, Leeds, New London, New Tokyo, New Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Omega 3, Omega 7, Sigma systems(2D), Tau systems(2D), and do I have to list more systems, not talking about 3D systems
Now everything is great, we are Void, we have so much systems, you other servers can't compare to us. Cool. And what for are all these systems if I may ask? We have round 60 systems from Single Player, 50 more that are 3D and round 20 that are so called New systems... Do I really have to say more. I am thankful for all your effort and everything to make all this, but be real, nobody uses half of our systems. They just don't have any purpose. Like, for what do I need Liberty systems? For nothing, so I won't enter them. Let me ask you players that are here for more then year, when did you last time visit Colorado system, Kyushu, Dresden( explorers are exception)? This topic is clear enough, I won't suggest you anything, just want to remind you what is Void like.
And btw, I still think that Void is the best Freelancer server ever, cause I visited Discovery, HHC, FLU and 3 more...but this needs to be solved...
ps: I will just post up a poll to see what actually players want...

You are forgetting about the players who like those systems. There are plenty of them, believe me. If you don't like them, don't go there. But let the players who do like them have the opportunity to go there and explore. I'm sorry to come across as a bit harsh, but your post doesn't bear much constructive criticism.
'Nuff said I think.

Depends what mood Im in
I explore when need be, which means I go anwhere. Ive flown about house systems a few times. Tokyo and New Berlin are great trade routes, I havent been to Colorado in a while but have been to New London. leeds and its surrounding systems not to long ago. Thats the beauty of a massive universe.

but at least would be cool when from NY to Sparta the road wouldn't take through alex, but through house ... I just want more use of house systems, or at least any other but only New systems...

Re: Where does this leads to?
No offense mate, but have you considered what other players think about these systems?
Can you honestly say you've made a good enough assessment about how much these systems are visited?
Have you surveyed this systems 24/7 to see activity? i very much doubt it. I agree with maverick, there isn't much constructive criticism in this.
I personally use most of those systems you mentioned, I visit a lot of different systems often. Sigma space is one of the places {PR} patrols and protects, and is the only place, along with omega, you can find quite powerful vanilla code name weapons which are still of use to a lot of players. I know you may think that a lot of systems are unused, but trust me they are in fact used. You have to remember not everyone plays at the exact same time as you due to timezones.
Every system in this mod has some sort of benefit, and alot of systems house bases for many different factions that players still utilize for different missions, equipment, and trade. Although i am just one player, i have my own agenda.
And i see you've made an exception for explorers. But the problem is there are quite a lot of explorers on this server, i mean really there are so many systems to explore, which is almost endless fun for someone like me, and i'm sure many people have as much fun exploring as i do.
I'm not trying to flame you or anything by the way, it is an interesting topic/poll, i just think you should have structured your argument a little better.
On a voting point of view, id like to see more systems but i do enjoy the current ones.

Re: Where does this leads to?
Its a valid question. You are however off mark a bit. Colorado, California, and the other routes to the home systems are used by the likes of me when I am in trading mode and wish to avoid tax and "bad guys" in general and Im in a "vanilla frame of mind". I will say this. The 3d systems are underused I feel mainly due to the lack of trade lanes but thats got something to do with the fact that they are 3d systems I think. I have noticed HEL1 being used a fair bit by some clans. Its almost as if you can get too much of a good thing. I am not aware of what is happening in the new mod release but I hope that there will be some trimming down of the "never visited" systems. Burn and Eagle are the two greatest explorers here on the VOID and I am sure they will be reluctant to agree to any excessive trimming down, but a word up to Voidians in general. Get out and take a look around even some of your "boring" systems - Pirates want to tax and to do so they have to find victims - dont make it easy for them - take a trip through some of the home systems to get where you need to go - this is especially true for new starters - make the most of the back door routes - sure it takes longer but you get to knock off a few low level NPCs, do some looting and take in the scenery cos no one will be bothered to chase you cos they are all "boring"...( ;) )
Traders need to waggle their big fat ATs at the Pirates and say "chase me" more often.... dont be boring and log off as soon as one of em turns up - want rid of them? Pay them the very reasonable amount of 200k - or dont and make em chase you for it.....! Whilst PvP and combat flying are a big part of this server dont forget that there is plenty else out there for those that are not too inclined to PvP to go do and to do it with a certain amount of freedom - just watch your backs for Pirates and unfriendly rogue types both in NPC form and in player form...
Above all have fun...

Re: Where does this leads to?
A very good post Skeleton, thank you for bringing this up.
Here are my thoughts: I will start with the numerous 3D systems wich sadly are barely visited by anyone these days
The concept was a good one:create huge systems for players (especially new ones) to explore and "get lost in".The only problem between them is their similarity and the word has spreaded very fast about the content of these systems aswell wich explains the lack of interest in these newly developed systems.
I've recently checked the online player list on the website and out of 30 players only 1 to 4 were visiting these 3d systems (the main populated systems still being Alexandria and Sparta)
Babylonia and Tartarus - now there are two systems wich in my opinion attracted a lot of interest due to their new faction+new available ship content.(same can be said about Nomad 1 and Unknown 2)
In my opinion people were just not ready for such a great change regarding the 3d systems and the lack of variety also discouraged them.
To the vannilla systems: I think this ones (allthough not very populated aswell) should be kept as they are the backbone of any server in my opinion. They can also be used to kill a sureten npc faction giving you the opportunity to get friendlier with another one and traveling through one won't take you up to 1-3 hours like in the 3d systems.
Sorry to be harsh about this but it's the plane truth based on facts.New systems(non 3d)-->New factions-->New ships
( i'ts as simpe as that in my opinion)
Little edit and off content:
Thanks for mentioning me though m8 i'm flattered ;)

I think it would be fair to only mention Eagle as i am only active in the "npc department" (no exploring no RP or pvp at all--sad but true,i know :D )Burn and Eagle are the two greatest explorers here on the VOID

Re: Where does this leads to?
The success of any mod in FL game (and others games), is based in the balance. In my opinion, if you add more systems you should add more factions and items, ships and guns etc..and of course you have to think about how many players are online normally, because it is very important to create intercactivity possibilities betwen players. Of course this interactivity is a responsabilty of the players but you can help to increase it with the mod configuration.
That was the success of VOID, adding new ystems and active factions, with their ships and guns, keeping the balance and creating new challenges, and everything was done with imagination and knowledge of the game.
So I dont think it is a question of more systems or less system. Balance between quality and quantity is the main objective in my opinion.

Re: Where does this leads to?
Only a personal opynion:
-Now it's good -i mean the mode, but i thynk , it would be better in a new mode if could be possible 2 find cool ships and high class weapons in some systems where today could be founded only 4-5 class weps and weak ships .
-Maybe action on Void would be dispersed in a higher number of systems, not only a few of them
c ya!

Re: Where does this leads to?
I think the right thing for 3D systems would be to put stuff in there that isn't in any other system, for example Hel-1 should have new exciting Hel weapons on specific planets, so on and so on. Same goes for commodoties and stuff like that. And if this dynamic trade system goes up in the next mod imagine how much money you are going to get by trading between 3D system worlds if not a lot of people go there? Should be good, looking forward to it like nothing else!

Re: Where does this leads to?
By the same argument we should ditch all the guns people dont really use, all the ships people dont really use and all the commodities that people dont really trade.
Would be a small mod then.
The point is variety, try it, explore it, use it and trade it. When you want to do somethig different, you can. Reducing everything down to only what most players use will mean that there will be 3 or 4 ships in the mod. maybe 10 systems if that. Just because players are'nt crowding a system doesnt mean its no use.
Not everyone wants to pvp, not everyone wants to trade.

Good post Skeleton but as the man said The systems are there you don't have to go there if you don't want to, but some time's you just might fancy a trip away from it all just to explore and variety is the spice of life.

Re: Where does this leads to?
Actually I have been playing in the 3d systems for a week or more. I kind of like the emptiness nothing buut me and the NPC. I am looking forward to seeing what my rep looks like when I rejoin the vanilla systems. I have noticed a number of planets have no name was this on purpose? I think I am getting the knack for the 3d systems but I'm not sharing the trick.
