Howdy peeps.Im making this post because i think that tax should be higher like 500k maybe(acording to players level u tax offcourse) ? Please write here what you think about that.
I think that 200k isn't enough.

Re: Pirate tax
Totally agree.. tax should be increased (from 200k to 500k) to encourage people to embrace a pirate career instead of a Rogue career thereby contributing to the RP of the server.
edit:also encouraging players to create pirate clans as Rogue clans are forbidden here

Re: Pirate tax
wow i ran a 3 month campain to increase taxes in the spring we had like 20 players support it. i put out a good solid tax scale accourding to rank. after 2 different treads about what we could do. we then only ended with 20 votes for it. strail is not going to change something with that little of support.
the other side of this is that most pirates dont even try to tax they just kill you and steal the loot. they dont even role play correctly to start with. as most play their [x] like a [r]. or the other side only tax those that are week and wont try to tax ships that are friends in untagged ships or even bother ships that are of players that will call for help.
with the new econ. like it is pirates are going to have to leave alex and sparta oh and alpha, if they want some money from taxes also. something i have not seen in almost 2 years. since we lost our last good pirate clan.
in mho pirate rp is dead, i put alot of energy into trying to help it out in the spring only to see nothing from the very players that like the [x] tag. all i got from them was a lot of whinning about this and that. nothing contructive that could fix it.
so good luck, but you are spitting into the wind here m8 in mho.

Re: Pirate tax
Well yea....ure right Eagleone, but i think we need some changes,we need pure RP...maybe only RP so it will be more realistic and for players who don't like it and want to pvp in peace they can go to EFZ or EVENT SYSTEM and pvp in no RP zones...Players should follow the damn rules like it was before in the "good old days".You couldnt see before rouge and navy fighting togeather in group or something like that,u can see today that things all the time happen... like u said :

So folks please follow your RP,if you are navy and u see an [R] kill it darn it.If you are an pirate and you goin to tax some1 dont kill him after you got your tax,if you are a darn rouge kill every1 for haven sakes because thats your RP...if you are a rouge every1 is your enemy,every1 is hostile to you,if u cant follow that then don't make [R] chars, then be a explorer or something....just follow your RP and you will see that Void will become just it was before and more interesant and more excited to play---> MORE ADRENALINE MORE ACTION!
Cheers

Re: Pirate tax
it really is as simple as this.
If people refuse to pay you 200k and they do ( i know this from experiance in BBD ) then why in the world will changing the tax rate to 500k make the slightest difference.
In all the time I was in BBD I got paid tax ....once and that was off a Black legion player in a fighter.
Im afraid a duel combination of pirates killing without asking for tax and traders point blank refusing to pay has killed piracy off, and only a supreme effort of will with a very strong clan leader will ever bring it back.

Re: Pirate tax
I am kind of new here so I understand my word doesn't hold much weight, but...
IMO role play is the essence to games like this, I have played sooo many mods in my time and the ones that don't last are the ones where role play is non existent.
Would be good to see a only RP in system chat rule ( haven't seen the rule so shoot me if it already exists ). Something to get people into role play a bit more.
I have not had a good look around the forums but I have some ideas and rules that could be implicated from other good servers if anybody is interested.
Also with such big maps it seems hard to RP effectively if I don't see anybody ( probably because I am lost most of the time )
@eagle one: I have been a good guy on every other server I have been on, for this server I have decided to go pirating and pillaging I intend to RP, as this is new to me and kind of exciting. I know it wont make too much difference but it is a start right?

Re: Pirate tax
Its not so much the ammount as the attitude towards paying - this has all been covered before so I wont revisit it.
Suffice to say I support a raise in Tax to 500k and lets see how that goes. Truth is if they are not going to pay they wont. Some will cos its not worth the hastle of starting a long trading trip again - thanks to the Dynamic Economy...!
And there is no point in pirates hunting down traders if all they are going to get is 200k at the end of it - saying that you should be doing it for the RP and not the cash. Any traders here that are truly affraid of VOID Pirates outside of Alexandria?
Up the Tax..... !

Re: Pirate tax
Hello, I believe the whole tax limit thing is dumb, that's why I never chose to play a pirate. I trust the people of the Void community to tax what they believe is a fair price. If their was no tax limit then that would make escorts more useful. also I think its just wrong putting these dumb rules on pirates, reminds me of something said in Pirates of the Caribbean, "the code is more of what you call guidelines than actual rules."
A few people think that if there is no tax limit then the pirates are going to go out of control taxing people unreasonable amount and them when they can't pay they are going to kill them over and over, that's why this rule was placed here in the first place. But I highly doubt that would be the case, for one they won't be making any money, and us rogues can do that anyway.
It's actually really simple, if you want to see the Voids greatest pirate, remove the tax limit rule; but if you are content with the Voids greatest rogue, change do anything.

Re: Pirate tax
i gave up asking for tax a long time ago, when it became apparent noone was going to pay it anymore..
people today have alot of friends that they could call on in an instant that would come back em up, or just don't appreciate Rp enough to pay tax, understandable though, why pay your hard earned cash when 2 or more others will come back you up?
or there's that big shiny f1 button you for when you're all alone in a sticky situation.
theres no point in raising it mate. people arent paying it now, raising the amount aint gonna change their minds
