normally just a "yeah whatever. Kill me."
This doesn't come as a surprise to me and i would most definitely blame this attitude due to the [R] tag
Ever since the introduction of this tag it's been going down the drain with the RP and the player numbers on the server.
But hey, fine with me!Let's all create [R] tagged chars and start shooting each other for no reasons at all...wouldn't that be a sight?
Piracy is dead thanks to the Rogue tag,you can increase the tax up to 500k or the F1 fine to 20 mills and it still won't change anything.
Given the fact that Rogue clans are forbidden on the Void why not prohibit the [R] tag aswell, therefore encouraging players to choose a Freelancer career or joining a clan resulting in more RP on the server.
Pirate clans are allowed btw but then again when was the last time you saw an active Pirate clan on the Void?
Oh yeah that's right they all have [R] tagged chars now! =D>
Go Go RP with the [R] tag!!!
edit:I have even seen Navy clan members switching from their clan tag to a [R] tagged one and navy members in the same group with rogues.
Now that's what i call playing in the spirit of RP! =D>[/quote]
That is totally wrong.
And i can tell you this from being a pirate on FL for years
The only time piracy has worked here was when the value of the cargo was so expensive that to not pay and die just
wasnt an option. I was lucky enough to play here during this time.
The only time piracy has worked here was when pirate gangs Roamed about pinning traders to stations on not granting them free flight until they paid. Again I was lucky enough to play here then too.
The only time piracy has worked here was when the tag was RP'd properly so it was fun for both the trader and the pirate.
"Tax 200k" does nothing for the trader, although there is a problem typing to a player and keeping him pinned but again I refer to PIrate gangs.
There is only one pirate on the void today that RP's the tag properly.
People have been refusing tax before the R tag, people continue to refuse to pay tax with the R tag - the R tag has no bearing on piracy at all.
@geromix
To say DTA killed piracy is just a silly statement,
what killed piracy was my temper, resulting in the banning of the strongest pirate clan to fly here.
and along with that, the strong inter clan relations we had with other pirate clans. So please dont blame everything thats ever gone wrong on DTA, that just isnt fair.
The R tag gives players at least some warning they are going to get shot at, if you do away with the R then you will have freelancers jumping freelancers with ZERO warning, and the same torrent of moaning on these forums as you had before the R tag.
