I know aye it's strange but I have no lag what-so-ever on an average day. This is according to my own experience plus people I have PvP'ed. Nah I haven't tried connecting since the new anti-cheat came out, but thats because my net is running slow because I have used all my bandwidth for the month. When I get my normal speed back it'll be interesting to see if I can play here anymore :-S... Ah well, thats the way life is.

@mightybean@
 Y know... when they R  45-50 players in game, it happened 2 me 2 have a huge lag, with video blocking in the time of pvp, but server doesnt kicked me, and oponents dont complain i am laggy, so maybe Y can play with no problem.
 Anyway, my lag , when it happened, was only a few sec., mostly when many ppl in that sys. fight with many rkts .
So, i think better with temporary lag , vs. some "Dopping"users! :D
Just a suggestion for Strail:

To stop people posting "Can't connect" threads when they are actually banned, perhaps there should be a list of banned players on here that gets updated regularly. It may be a bit confusing for the new players that have been banned for bad lag, because they are unaware of why or if they are banned or not.

@Wolfie:

Good to know I've stimulated someones day :P
This would be massively helpful, I'm one of the newer peeps with a problem and I know what I was banned for and fixed it, but still can't connect. Yet in the most recent lists posted by the great one and the Admins (such as the one on friday/saturday... I'm UK) my name isn't on it.

I even tried this morning after strail accidently lifted the bans imposed and I'm still barred.

Hmmm thats good to hear WarDog! Hopefully I don't get kicked as well... I don't know about my package loss so I think what I need to do is wait till my net is back up to speed and just give it a go and see what happens. :)

type /loss in-game Mightybean and you'll get a packet loss in percent though I am not sure if that is the actuall packet loss, but it's at least worth a shot :)
I would love to keep in touch with people from the Void if you ever transfer onto other games. Feel free to contact me one:

Thanx 4 the explaination Strail, thatz dope that u recognize these sortz of issues. That showz commen courtesy, respect, etc, yadda yadda, and so forth. Statements such as "And if I ever get banned for lagging, Ill deserve it for playing unfairly against the rest, Ill take my ban, sort out my PC and wont whine on the forums about it." is way out of wack. Not cool, but let me leave it at that, I dont wanna b whinning about such thingz....

I lag pretty bad since I am using Wiresless now. Guess I'll get banned just because I have a bad packet loss?

Having bad packet loss affect the server and the gamers
the point is that when you allow yourself to play the game with the high loss and ping then you wont have fun cause of the lag + you will ruin the chances for the ones who having better connections to have fun.

i think that's the point of having the automatic bans even if the reason is the lag that showed the thruster speed is more than it should be - so the thing that detect that abnormality can't differ between the lagg and the cheat , although im down with the idea of banning Lagging players as they do much bad than good to the server.

Advice : Fix the connection then try the void - for better server sake and for other's sake.

Regards,
XENON

XENON has it in the bag there, my ban is still on but I took the opportunity to try my fixed comp on another server, I found that when the server was under a certain number of users my ping averaged around 49 with a packet loss of 0... that was with about 18 on the server, once this figure reached and exceeded 30 that's when my ping spiked to 250 but my packet loss shot up to 190 causing the fabled engine melt (the server I was testing on still kill you for lag right now).  Meaning either my cpu's knackered and can't handle so much activity, or my bandwidth isn't up to it.

Simply put, when I come online with the intention of going on the void server I will check the amount of people already on first, if it's say 25 or more I'll know to put it off for a bit saving both myself and the other Voidans from 1. a lousy laggy experience 2. a ban being imposed on me keeping me off for a week, if that means I'll have to wait for the population on the server to drop to an acceptable level for my comp,  then so be it.

I suggest that if you're suffering from packet loss substantial enough to get you banned even though you think you've done everything you can to your hardware to right it, then you should probably think about doing the same, the admins and strail both have enough on their plate without this subject hitting them in the face on a daily basis.

=D> Thank you for putting so much into this server guys. =D>
I love it here.

Kinda late for that anyways, Freelancer has seemed to die down a lot lately. I still find it sad that these nawb cakes would actually used speed mods or whatever.
