You are all absolutely right there. Rereading the initial post, I think I might not have put it the right way, judging by your replies. Let me clear that up for you.
It's the second paragraph of the following quote that is important:

The first thing that will probably come to mind is PvP skills. And naturally, more than outstanding PvP skills will be one of the trademarks for the [Saint] clan. But there is far more than that.

More importantly, the [Saint] clan will also represent the best of the best attitude-wise. The behavior of its members will be an example to the rest. Saint members will also be players who know what is good for the Void as a server and as a community, and realize in what way they can actively add to that and do so accordingly.

I did mention PvP skills, but tried to keep it as minimalistic as possible, while stressing out the attitude part as being the main important thing about Saint.
When talking about 'being an example', I am actually referring to the exemplary attitude the members should have. As you guys pointed out, those characteristics cannot be trained, whereas PvP skills can (and they surely will be trained, to keep the skills as challenging as possible). Surely we will be looking for members with a talent for PvP, but the emphasis will most certainly be on the members' characters. The most important thing is that the Saints should be a clan with nice and friendly people in it, with whom you could have a lot of fun.

I will change the initial post a bit to prevent further confusion. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I wouldn't want to make the wrong impression right from the get-go.

Oh and by the way:

Well not just yet. This post was meant as a teaser to see the replies. It will still take some work and time to get it started up, and time is pretty rare these days. But no worries, they will come.

Hm, now that I've read this, I see we might have had different concepts about "actively recruiting" when we talked about it earlier, so I'm still popping in to post here. Though it doesn't really matter now, I still think I should tell you that this, aka: looking for good people to invite, was also what I meant by actively recruiting :)  Looks like I might've mixed some concepts up, and wasn't clear enough then - my bad.
(Passive recruiting: putting up information and some advertisements, then being passive and waiting for people to come to you.)

Most of the old saints would roll over and die if that was what was coming to the clan.

The saints. A fluffy fun loving clan. What happened to the hard core ability of the fighters to keep EVERYONE off the rock. They weren't there to be nice, they weren't there to hold hands. They were there to show THEY were the BEST and no one would claim their territory of the holy rock. (BBD were better xD)

Why cant you just make a clan and stick to it.

I think I understand what Mav's onto here and maybe those who are being toughest on him ought to give him a break. Wait to see what comes of this.

I think what he's saying is he is looking to restore the honor and integrity of the Saints, as well as the superior fighting of the Elite clan. And the way I see it, many of the most elite fighters of the Void have said on so many occassions that they have been fed up with the lack of honor and integrity of so much of the population here. The best fighters who have left or said they were leaving or returned have said they were tired of the cheaters, the whiners, the poor sprotsmanship and the boasting when a fight was finally won. Those players have that inherent character. Those are the elite. And It seems to me these players who see this effort to restore that quality to the Saints would be very happy and maybe consider joining or rejoining to see the glorious history restored. And because they now understand the problems that come with accepting only the very best fighters, they would welcome others who share their values in how to be elite and train them to be elite fighters as well. Then the Saints would again be in their proper place as the very best of the best.

But maybe that's just me, looking at the best outcome. And maybe that's just me thinking the best fighters who seem maybe a little offended that this is happening  ought to put their money where their mouth is... of better said, their skills where their values are, and join to be sure the things they are concerned about don't happen.

Wolf, your intentions while good, just wont work. Well in my eyes anyways.

You seem to forget that most players here don't do the things you have mentioned. Why have most of the evil clans left? Because navy cant seem to grasp the fact that 10v2 is boring and doesn't promote fair play, but the evil is just as bad when it comes to it and this thread isn't a discussion on who's more noobier. When it comes down to saint, why will it be any different? in theory the same player base will be taken in to Saint, therefore the actions will be no different? personally I pride myself on giving honor and respect where necessary and it really annoys me when people have a lack of it.

and as for the put your money where your mouth is. You seem to forget this is a diminishing community, so this clan would only split the player base even larger as people will want to be "Elite". I also don't think the clan can live its hay day without the likes of what made it great. The fighters that were there at the start were what made saint great, no offense to Mav, you probably are a good leader. I just don't think that you can really revive a clan that you may not have experienced first hand of and been a part of.

One last thing, I have tried a few times to make anti gang raping treaties, in game preaching all that crap. None of it has worked, so I don't think that reviving a clan that was once great will do anything good.

Please don't look at this post as a flame, I can just be a little cold in the way i say things sometimes. But this is the way I see things going and i personally don't think this is the right idea. Feel free to nit pick and continue this great discussion

I see your point Greav, I do. And it might turn out you have been right all along. Who knows. Fact is that if we are not going to try, we will never know. If we give up taking initiatives, we might as well pull the plug. Something new is always good.
This was not my idea, as I have been asked to do it. But I fully support it. Coz if there is only a small chance this might work, and it actually might do some good to the Void, than I will try to get there. But frankly I think that chance isn't all that small.
If it works, a lot of peeps might have a lot of fun in he process.

Some might call me naive for it, but I prefer to look at it as just being optimistic.
