Yeah m8, there're some ships like the Andromeda, Gilgamesh, and so, that are pro designs. But sadly they're surely too big for Freelancer.
The new version of the Viper is like made specially for Gen. Greavous from the Clone Wars. The Conqueror Mk2 is the smoothest version of a conqueror ever seen. And etc, etc, etc. You've dedicated a lot of time building them. Great jobs.
2nd "But": Many of them have weapons wich have to be removed. This is not a big problem.
Another thing I think it has to be fixed is that many vertexs are not welded, and the most important thing to me...: Textures
I don't know how to texture extruded faces, and when I try to texture a modeled ship, the textures are placed refering to your original ones. Idk how to explain it better with my poor english. Just that at least I don't know how to retexture a ship as I want.

I'll try to convert a few of them (the smallest) and, If I make it, I'll post them here. Be patience, u know this could take me ages.

Dude this is most impressive! The designs all look stunning and the variety in them is amazing. My personal favorite is the Andromeda. Man I would love to fly that baby! From what movie was it again?

You might have indeed missed the bus, but I will make sure this will be brought under the Dev Team's attention at the very least. Who knows you can still jump in. Textures can be fixed by someone else I believe.
Let me get back to you.

while some may appear to be to big, that shouldn't matter as everything can be scaled up or down as needed. The file size on the other hand indicates the mesh and to high of a mesh may or may not be a problem, not sure how much of the game is server side and how much is client side.

Hey, heres some ships I've made, not been modelling long, and don't know how to texture or whatever. Afraid I don't know much about void, I played it once and it wasn't really my cup of tea, but I liked its originality Just ask if you'd like to use these models/adjust them/remodel them/want me to adjust them/whatever.

Good start m8, but textures is the most important thing (at least to me).
Texturing a modeled ship is very hard. You'll be forced to "paint" it not to "skin" it, because you surely shrinked or enlarged many  triangles.

If you want to model a ship I suggest you to:
1st. Pencil&Paper and decide how's it gonna be,  including hardpoints locations.
2nd Grab textures somewhere or create them. I use freelancer's originals and then I modify them a bit.
3rd Place&Weld parts with your 3D modeling software.

This is how I texture the ships:

And this is the Condor ship at "shipyard":

And the ship finished:

One important thing too is the size of the files of the ship. Max. is 10.000 triangles, recommended size: 1000 triangles.

I hope that helps. PM me if u think I can help you.
