Problem Purchasing a Captial Ship

So I was on earlier and spoke with [VOID]_Mystic and he told me to get the updated 2115v7 void mod (from this thread?).  I went and dl'ed it and uninstalled and deleted the old one.  Then activated the new one.

The problem is the patched version is supposed to fix the prices so they show the correct ones.  I'm sitting in game and the prices are still the old ones.  

Did I download the wrong patch?  What am I doing wrong?  How do I fix this issue?

I downloaded the mod form this thread:

Then I updated with the file from this thread:

But careful, the second thread of Rimshot is dated Oct 8 and the first thread has been initially placed by vector-x Sep 30 and updated Oct17. Could be that the thread of vector-x meanwhile includes the fix.

Acreo_Aeneas, the patch is what you needed, it is seperate from the mod. It is the second link included in the above post from Zaphod.

Note:

This patch consists of 5 hacks, all of them are optional.
However to be able to buy anything that costs more than 10 mio hack#4 is required.

Usage:

Copy the patch into your freelancer installation folder and run it.
(e.g. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE")

I had the same problem, installed the patch, and then i could buy the cap. ships.
But, then, there's another problem, u can't fly with them, its like they hawe killed engines all the time.
U will see when u go to space with it.

I already have that problem with the Kusari Gunboat.

I just applied all 5 options in the patch but then when I go run the game, it shows the splash screen and then Windows says it crashed unexpected and throws me back to my desktop.

What now?

Edit:

I went and replaced the EXE with a backup and did the patch over again with some experimentation.  It seems if I change either of the chat message options and/or the cruise display limit, the game crashes.  So the only two working options are the raise price limit and the solid health bars.
