Help please

hey guys, this is about my pc

So, i'm reading through some forums on my computer, all the sudden it restarts... no big deal it'll come back up and work great, well, not quite this time, it is in a constant reboot, everytime i trie to start windows normaly, last known good config, safe mode...etc... when it gets to the main loading window (blue squares running accross) it reboots again...

Anyone know a way around this?

Did you change any hardware? XP is notorious for breaking then, and producing symptoms like this.
But judging by that, it's probably a RAM problem - one of your modules might've failed. I recommend you download MemTest, burn it onto a CD (or install it on a pendrive, or floppy) and check your memory with that. If it finds any errors, take that module out, and see if it works then.

Yep Cmdrsaman is right...'blue screen of death' is most a memory error and bad adressing...so try to change DDRAM, or VGA card (memory on VGA maybe is a problem) or u have some virus.

Well, I've had a similar problem in the past, and none of the above was the problem.

The only thing that solved it for me was reinstalling Windows, but don;t jump into that just yet... test it out using the methods above. If everything else fails, THEN reinstall XP.

While you're at it, install Windows 7.

Dont start laughing, but mb yr pc problem is so simple, i had it in the past...Start cleaning the components from DUST !!! Specially the cpu cooler & his radiator.2 check what i say, when it start 2 reboot & blue screen wil apear, run the Bios, and check the cpu temperature. im quite sure its V high.The PC have a protection against high temp. on cpu, 2 prevent the damage. Also, check if Yr cpu fan (aka cooler is working, or it is damaged)Trust me, im quite sure , this is the problem & the nice thing is , its easy 2 solve it. Success m8! >-

I forgot 2 ask ya , have U upgrated Yr PC, 2 a level where his power unit becamed 2 low capacity?
i mean, aditional Ram, Video, Hard disk?

This does sound like a cooling fan problem as Gr8-Lizard says. Dust will kill a computer, i give all mine a good clean about once a month just get in there with a small paint brush and clean everything...

alright, well, now that i think of it Lizards conclusion seems very possible as my computer is under constant overheating... as the fan is not good enough for all the heat everything is creating. i'lll blow it out and see what happens.
if not i'll trie cmdrsamon idea.

OK, try this..If you have 2 or more ddram memory modules, take all modules out, then put one and start comuter. If problem is still there..try another module and reboot again (if mem module is problem almost never all is broken, just one)

Try to run WinXP under Safe mode, and run some aplication like defragmentation of hdd, if all works ok then you have virus 99%.

I missed that somehow...

All i try to say is that blue screen is a bad adress report.CPU send data to ram memory and mamory send back bad one...then u see blue screen, and problem is allways in comunication between CPU and DDRAM. Bad CPU freeze or shot down system (overheate maybe), and rarely show blue screen. So...try to change DDRAM module...

btw. If u cant run WinXP under Safe mode then u have hardware problem..

Not always a RAM problem i had this happen with a dodgy video card...Until you find the problem this thread could go on forever with solutions...
You could even get down to scrutinizing the mother board with a microscope for 1 split track... ?

What is the code that the blue screen reports? i.e. (0x0000007b, 0x********,0x********,0x********)

it's the first number I am interested in.

never said nothin bout any blue sreen the windows screen with the blue square runnin accross the bar lol

What i did to fix it :

I went to format it... but instead i decided to hit windows repair, witch i still have no idea on what it does, but i didn't wanna loose everything i had... and after a bit of waiting it fixed itself

LOL no worries mate, that it's fixed is the main thing. Funny thing is look how many of us didn't read properly and went overboard on the help.  =))
