Re: Waste of time

Post by Banzai »

It doesn't really matter so much as to whom was hired, it was the fact that the event was not properly prepared.  Marauders were there before the time posted and were prepared the time the event was to happen.  At that time, there were only 3 Vagu online and not they were not prepared.  Then Mercs were hired from the ranks of Syndicate and 4S, which still didn't match up to the numbers of Marauders sitting and waiting for the event long past it's scheduled time.  Then the Vagu and mercs ended up in Tohoku instead of Hokkaido where the event was to take place and near 45 minutes had past since the event was to start.  Too much time had past and people grew weary of waiting any longer.

So please, do not blame the Marauders for this event failing like this.  Not to be mean, but you must blame yourself for this one.  Marauders were obviously more than willing to entertain this idea and were there and ready, it was you who was not ready at all for your own event.  Was it unreasonable for us to finally grow tired of all the waiting?  Unless the plan all along was to bore us to death until enough of us left that the 3 Vagu would outnumber what was left of the Marauders, then start the event... LOL  :P  I'm poking fun of course with that.

The event was a good idea though.  I believe though that maybe you should have scheduled it further down the road to insure that both sides had the time to gather their forces.  Of course, even the best laid plans can go stray, but at least given a date further ahead might have averted the failure of this event.

Yes I totally agree with Banzai, I could'nt have worded it better. But I would like to add that mayb Vagu should have first planned a "Skirmish" to see how that panned out for both sides, Marauder's or any other clan for that matter, then plan an Event....!

I have read this post thru, all points on both side etc. etc.
...But the thing that puzzles me more than the reasons of why it fell apart is why it needed to be aranged into an event in the first place ..
Meaning Vagu are a pirate clan and Marauders a navy right? Which means skirmishes and battles should not really need to be an event as they are natural RP enemies and should be simple enough to just start a battle whenever, If Vagu are short on numbers or Marauders at time of battles then they have options of allies or Mercs to even up IF they wish.

This way there would be not waiting around for an event that should be running RP anyway, Waiting is always the worst part. Hunting, Watching enemies movements, ploting/planning places to strike and defending against such strikes/ambushes seems imho alot more fun to be spontanious RP rather than sitting waiting for ages for somthing that should be happening anyway.

Just my 2 pence worth.

Relentless.

Some nice work there. I always preferred the simplistic approach, but it looks good.

What could be more simple than a Freelancer-like theme?

Well, on your first shot, the modules go down further than the rest of the portal. On the second, the pictures in your Freelancer Servers category increase its height, needing more scrolling to what appears to be the more important clan section.

aaaa - that...
but what about the theme bud? :)
On the bottom there - portal pic - there will be another widget to fill that spot.
Forum usage - I had no complaints - and ppl use them a lot...

Giving it a Freelancer theme was a very good choice!
