As you know, we distrubute the mod through a download and then the player uses Mod Manager to install it.
In the past I have always had an issue over this because of the fact that if you have a problem with one for the files in the mod, you need to upload a full mod version with the fix. You cant just disribute the file on its own as the other players d/l the mod and dont have it. For this reason I had always looked for a solution with an updater and came close a few times over the years but one reason or other caused us not to use one.
I would like to use an updater so that the mod can be developed with small changes at a time rather than making a whole mod and then testing it etc etc which takes a lot longer than drip feeding changes in. The other thing is that if theres a change and its causing a problem it can be reverted back immediately.
Does anyone have any opinions or experiences on on this concept they would like to share?
