I like the production value of the american tv. but like the freedom of the language and lack of clothing that the european tv has.

I live in England so the only european tv I get to see is the multi language euro news channel and those very very silly shows late at night which are usually about how sexually open minded europeans are.

British tv however with a few exeptions (like big brother for example and the soaps) is generally of a very high standard compared to American tv, that said American tv has improved dramatically over the last couple of decades and we're finally seeing intelligent drama and high grade sci fi (such as the new battlestar galactica even though it was part funded by the BBC and features several English actors and film crew) coming out of the USA...I think it started with the X-files really since before that there were very few programs coming out of the USA that had any cerebral content at all.

So although American tv has improved a great deal it still falls short of what we're used to in the UK but it is better than most of the european dross that we get to see in the UK so between the two it's American tv.

I like european TV cause some of the stuff that gets shown i cant live without (and its not eastenders), but USA TV if u r talking about, it has different channels in each state. I go to florida a lot and its gd to have 49 channels, whilst we brits get 5 lol pretty unfair lol: .

Sure, USA has lots of channels, but how many of them do you acctually watch? Quality not quantity.
As for the poll, I enjoy american sit-coms, but the background laughing is kinda annoying when they laugh at everything that is the slightest bit funny.

Lmao, Hunter, you Recoil and DJ will no doubtedly have guessed what's coming in my post, lol...

American (USA) TV is alot better in my opinion... Hunter you may say that there are alot of channels and complain about quality, but how many European channels do you watch, I would assume very few if you really thought about it...

I find that the USA has a wide variety, and there is always something to watch, remember here people, In England we get 5 terrestrial channels, on average... In the USA you have around 80+ channels, when you pay for cable you receive 250+!

I have satellite TV here in England, but I would honestly prefer to have the basic channels received in the USA...

*Just under 3 months before I go back to USA... w00t*

Because America is a Continent, with a lot of countries (and most of them speak spanish).
Here in the U.S. normally when you jist say America instead of north or south in front of america it means the United States of America
