Freelancer - The Void

And a bump....  C'mon.  Anybody got ideas? Anyone? PLZZZZZZZZ?????

Mabye we could mix Freelancer with 40K, have the armored transport land on a planet then CG in some space marines coming out the back to battle with some heretics!!!

And mabye to emphasizes why long range flights can't be made you could show some battleships squaring off above the planet along with some fighters and mixed in audio!!

I like the idea.  If you want a thought, consider something like team speak.  Record converstations and such in game and edit.  How likely would most of these people interact in person?  Not many would, so all you need is a core of people for the planet and station stuff, and the rest is just voices over the communications system that the ship has.  That would allow for a lot of participation.  And People could use web cams to record also, so you could do something like the view screen on the Enterprise for live shots.  
 Another thing is most of what would be live shots would be in space stations and such, so do Blue room set ups.  That type of technology isn't that hard to do.  
 If you want a beat up bum for a clunker pilot, I'm your man.  Already have the beard..

if ya need a story board maker or somethin pm me... id gladly help+ wouldnt be my first movie;D

when i saw the thread i thought it would be about making a freelancer movie using
in game footage, like they do with warcraft alot. then all youd need is shed loads
of different footage, people who can add effects, voiceovers and a script.

its a far more achievable goal, it wouldnt really have any copyright issues cause
it would be an amateur production for your own personal enjoyment and you
could stay relativiely anonymous if you were paranoid about microsoft.

theres plenty of programs out there for ripping video, as long as people used the
same program and the same quality video it would look pretty good in my opinion.

id definately be up for doing voiceovers altho my northern england accent leaves
alot to be desired  :P anyways i think that a real movie will never happen and this
would if you put your mind to it.

I don't have any way to take a picture of myself right now.  Need too many other things first, starting with a cpu for my socket 775 board.  More ram.  bigger monitor.  New keyboard.  New mouse.  More money to buy what I need for my puter.  Sorry....................  Will try when I get the chance, but I am working toward ZZTop length..........  I can curl it up under my hat and put my glasses on over it, though.....................  Heh heh heh....................

I've heard of Warhammer 40k before, buuuuuutttt........ never played it.
The problem with the actors is that everybody from around the world might wanna do this!  We cant do that.  
It would be helpful, though, if someone volunteered to organize an acting squad or something.  That way, nobody has to worry about booking flights!  Watch Wolf is working on the script (hopefully ) .  After the script is done, were gonna set up dates to film (pacific coastal time, mind you ).

if you want stuff to happen or ideas to spew forth you really need to lay down some
ground ideas first otherwise where are we supposed to start.

what direction is the film gonna take ? is it gonna be a love story ala star wars, a
totalitarian sci fi like equilibrium, a space combat movie or a horror in space...

theres actually no solid ideas in this thread at all. i will contribute if i can tho...

How about a conspiracy theory story?

Watchwolf flaked out on me so we basically dont have a script.  Unless somebody takes that spot.  We also need someone to put together an acting crew since i want realistic shots of the char's on bases or planets.

Speaking of char's, do we want char's from the server or the original storyline char's?

the game takes up too much of our time to ever be able to seriously put the time
required into this. and by the time your not playing so much you wont care anyway,
but will probably move on to a new idea for whatever game your wasting your life
on this year lol...trust me, ive been there mate

well i wanna make a movie now! lol, im sure there are some people who have the time.  like me for example.  Im on friggen spring break next week!  And speaking of time.....

everyone start typing up a script.  I dont care what kind of story, just make it good.
