Z.O.N cometh (RP clan) including RP Story

Announcing of new clan ZON (Zars of Nemesis) on The Void.  We hope to build a presence on The Void.  And our first port of call will be to establish new members and go someway to making us official. For the mean time it is just myself.  All empires need a starting brick. lol not that i refer myself as a brick generally.
 We will be RP based.  We are also an alien clan. No declared enemies, allies or the likes as of yet. But that will change with a little time. We however to (hope!) to pose a threat to most clans and players tagged. Allies are not a pre-requiste for us. Nomads are our longtime foe.  But you'll see that in the RP story to follow.  So hello Void and all it's many clans.  Looking forward to play online.

Ok so perhaps peaceful negotiation was too much to ask for in Sirus, but they were all there, delegates from most of the big houses... well the ones that could sit beside each other without lobbing a limb off that is.

"the facts still remain"

i could almost see the sneer on my own face, facts! FACTS!! indeed, or rather the incoherent words that we managed to pull from a terror stricken trauler hauler who had entered Zoner space.  the poor wretch.

"I know not all the house leaders are here tonight"

politics, that was me.  always politics. i nearly choked on my own sincerity. of course ALL the houses had representitives there,  whether it was that shady character in the corner securing the door or even the lady taking the minutes, i really didn't know.  but i did know that all would hear the contents of this hastily arranged meeting.

"according to our sources..."

"YOUR sources Captain?"

Liberty were always over estimating their intlligence at any given moment,  that much at least was predictable"

"according to our sources, a recent trading expedition into Zoner space"


"A trading run?"

Again Liberty with their moralistic and finger wagging so-so ways

"you do mean yet another shipment of cardamine to further degrade the quality of life of our citizens?"

And of no surprise to me, if they could find even the word on a shipment docket, they'd overblow it as much as they could.

"PLEASE"

my tone calmed a little, afterall that was meagre to why this meeting had been called.

"please Envoy Kort, the point of this meeting isn't simply about illegal goods or finger pointing"

"If it is as important as you say Emissary G'Dul, why aren't you getting to the point?"

The Kusari were always straight to the point regardless of who they were dealing with.  At least Liberty were a known quantity.

"The POINT Envoy Kjung, is this.  the Trauler that we intercepted enetering our sector 3 solar winds ago carried with it distressing news"

Assembling them all here was the easy part, and besides to actually state that the news was distressing wasn't NEWS.  everything in Sirus was distressing. Traulers faced risk of death at every turn,  from pirates or even flying into one of the latest skermishes in the war and if not that from contracts not completed in time.  And if you were a pilot if the war didn't kill you then over zealous trauler haulers did.  that's life in space if you're not one of us, you're one of them.

"that's hardly enough to warrant this meeting G'Dul"

the Bretonnian Envoy was always an astute clever dangerous man, one reason why i didn't shoot him right there for not addressing me as Emmisary.

"Perhaps you'll change your mind Col. Kane when I finish what i have to say"

perhaps? he definitely would, there was no perhaps about it.

"If you let me continue, this meeting is dangerous for all of us!"

Dangerous was an understatement, each of us had at least 10 reasons to kill the other.  Paranoia wasn't a sickness in Sirus.....it was a way of life.

"The Trauler we managed to rescue from the shattered remains intercepted several transmissions just on enetering Zoner space.  his ship was attacked as he escaped"

I could see all their faces sinking into deeper thought,  the Zoners are usually neutral to all.  and with the thought of worrying radio comunique you could almost feel the accusing stares between the delegates as to who the Zoners might be involved with.

"Although the transmissions for the most part is indecipherable..."

heh, i wasn't going to tell them to the full extent of my defination of the word indecipherable.  Infact what we heard was a strange tongue, an unknown dialect. it could be any conceivable reason,  traulers, envoys were always coding their speak in fear of helping any one particular war effort.  But not this time.

"...we were able to grasp some of it's contents - and what we can judge is that the Zoners are no longer just simple Zoners"

I was confused even by my own words. if they weren't Zoners then WHAT were they?
the delegates were getting restless by this point.

"We sent an official envoy to the edges of Zoner space which was met by hostile force and with a warning"

IN actuallity they managed to beam a transmission to us, ended with their own screams as it faded.

"The warning was this - Zoner borders are closed to all of Sirus until further notice"

This was the last thing we all needed, another Faction closing it's borders to all and sundry.  The signs didn't look good and i could feel it wrenching in my gut.

"It will take us a while longer to determine what this exactly means"

"Obviously it means war G'Dul"

Damn Kane and his attitude, but he was right

"we sent our own scouts on a covert mission into Zoner territory, they have yet to return"

Usually admitting the use of covert forces would be political suicide, but on this occassion they'd question or own Presidents gaul if they hadn't of,  and they'd be on us like the salavating dogs they are.

"Our own SPi ahem INtelligence tells us..."

Ahhh good old Liberty, never had big enough boots to keep in its bumbling mouth.

"That they had heard news of specific Zoner interest in archeological digs, one of our own Doctors had been called for assistance"

Generally anything Liberty says I'd take with a pinch of salt but when it came to artifacts and relics they did have the lead.

"That is hardly enough to warrant a link Envoy Kort"

I'm not sure if the Kusari ambassador was right this time.  The Zoners weren't reknowned for their interest in digging up the past...so to speak

"The point is Gentlmen,  that SOMETHING is not what it should be and SOMETHING is responsible"

Everyone looked to be taking in every detail and imagining the worst, I wondered how bad was worst!!

Somewhere in the Omicron Alpha sector.

Border World Science Camp 1-.-.-Planet Carinea.

"Professor Leighan, i think you should take a look at this" was the urgent call over the comm.
"yes dear, i'm on my way. I'm on my........" the professors word's trailed off into thoughts.
thoughts about what he could expect when he got there. was this the Nomad Artifact they'd been searching for all this time. Or perhaps some further insight into Nomad technology, something that had eluded him for too many year's.
Finally, he thought, I will be rich.
The Professor fingered at the intercomm "Karen" he said hesitantly "what are the indications from the scan"
The comm crackled "I......."
"you're breaking up dear"
"I'm not sure what the scan results mean Proffesor." the comm crackled again and died.
The Professor was wary of faulty equipment, something wasn't right. And after all everything was overhauled recently on demand by the BorderWorld Authorities.

His Hovership came to rest at the hastily made landing platform near the dig site. the readings showed lifesigns, but his eyes deceived them.
"Karen!!" he shouted anxiously.
Still no reply, he wandered cautiously down the shafts months of preperation had made. As he got closer to the dig lab he had an overbearing sense of doom.
There by the entrance to the lab he could see a blue field just eminating from the door. Indeed Karen's urgent call had been important enough to report it.
She was his prodigy in many senses, a kind and fair woman even if she had a corsair background.
The Professor stabbed at the control panel by the door, the door groaned and raised sligtly.
He stared through the blue field into the room, his heart suddenly started beating faster............
He could barely make out the figure of Karen standing near the back of the room crouched over the console.
he groped by his side and lifted a small stone and tossed it at the field.
He cringed waiting for something exsplosive, but the stone passed through un-scaved and bounced along the floor of the lab and came to rest unharmed, and what's more.........in one piece.
The Professor cursed himself "damn you man and caring" he muttered
He made a leap under what room the door allowed. He closed his eyes tight and for some reason held his breath. Why?! he had no idea.
That one moment lasted an eternity, he was sure his life would be ended prematurely.

The Professor slowly opened his eye's, he pinched himself......STILL alive he thought to himself.
"KARENN!!" he called out when he regained his composure.
He raced to the desk.
Karen looked round in bewilderment"Professor......I......I"
she was obviously dazed.
The Professor grabbed her by the arms "ARE YOU OK?"
She took a moment to answer.
"y.......yes.........I must have passed out"
The Professor felt beneath the comsole and grabbed the medikit.
"here" he said passing some salts to Karen "take these........not pleasant I know but still"
Karen took the salts, knowing she needed to tell the professor something. something that eluded her.
Meanwhile the Professor remembered the reasons for his many years searching and the blue field still remained around the room.
Karen got up and wandered to a drawer and pulled out a strange looking device.
"the blue field appeared when i powered this up" she half said to the floor
the professor looked cross" Karen you know dear, new artifacts should be analyised before tampering with them"
"yes Professor, i know, i know" she searched for an explanation
"i was compelled, i couldn't help it............it forced me"
"Incredible" exclaimed the professor.
Karen couldn't feel the same enthusiasm as the Professor.
"But dear, we seem to be safe, even inside this blue forcefield"
Karen reached the artifact to the Professor.
"this is NOT Nomad technology" she said
"it's not?" this the professor had not seen
"what could it be i wonder?"
Studying the readouts Karen had made after plugging in the device, the Professor started to become more worried.
"my dear this seems to be some Stasis device of some sort, where did you get it?"
"it was in a panel, no inscriptions were on it. it seemed safe enough to remove" was her reply.
Just then the floor of the lab rumbled.

The Professor grabbed Karen and darted for the exit.
An icy resonating voice came from behind them.
"<GOING MY DEAR PROFESSOR?" came the dual voice

the Professor and Karen stopped in their tracks and slowly looked back
"who are you, what do you want" stammered the professor
there seemed to be 2 figures standing. Cold cold looks upon their faces, eyes piercing into his soul. he never felt such mind numbing terror.

"<WE ARE THE ZARS OF NEMESIS <WE ARE ONE <WE SPEAK AS ONE"
"<YOU HAVE WOKEN US"

the professor tried to make audible sense
"but the...the Nomads........are the.......only alien species in this sector"

"<NOMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAADDDSSSSSS" the whole planet seemed to shake at the Nemesi answer

"what do you want from us" the professor could barely bring himself to look at the ghostly figures.
"<ONCE WE WERE" "<WE SLAUGHTERED THE NOMADS HERE THEN WE SLEPT"
"<WAITING TO BE AWOKE AT THEIR RETURN"
"<THEY WERE A PESTILENCE " "THEY INVADED OUR SPACE  <THEY HAD TO DIEEEEEEEE"

"we mean you know harm"

the figures laughed, a laugh that would surely rock the pits of Hell themselves!
"<HARM?" the shadows seemed vaguely amused at the idea of the professor harming them.
"<YOU WILL LIVE" "<YOU WILL SPREAD THE WORD OF THE RESSURECTION OF THE ZARS OF NEMESIS AND THE IMPENDING DOOM THAT AWAITS"

the figures walked to the door.

"<WE WILL TAKE YOUR ASSISTANT" "<SHE IS THE AWAKER"
the professor knew he couldn't argue.
"<SHE WILL HELP US AWAKE THE OTHERS AND BE OUR EMMISARY"
"<SHE WILL DIE EVENTUALLY AS WILL THE REST OF YOUR PITIFUL RACE"

"<WE SHALL RULE SUPREME AND NONE WILL STAND IN OUR WAY"

Thx guys for the comments.  Some parts of the story didn't show up properly because they were incased in html tags lol  Need to get the Voices right.  All fixed now!Any chance gettin strings attached to the ships....... just like the old movies
