Some attitudes stink

I created a new rogue char and whilst setting it up I flew from Bab to Unknown2.  Along the way I came across 4 fighters (not in the same system-all flying alone).  I do my usual thing and kill them. saying gf everytime.  After each kill all I got was swearing and cursing. 3 were greened and one was all over system chat lol.

I don't really mind but I just couldnt believe how many people didnt know that a big [R] meant rogue, in other words 'warning'.  I wont ever send an ss of these guys, just not he way I play fl anymore.

And Sunday morning I was trying out a Waran in my other char just to see if they were really that bad when this guy beats me about 3 times in pvps, so I say gf every time.  Next thing he is slagging off my flyin skills in system chat.  I tell him that it aint very cool to do that, the next thing he is greening me saying that I'm kos with his clan everytime I play .lmao.

So I just switch to my Savage char and go frag him.  Whist I've switched he is still greening me with threats.  I just thank him for the frag and log off to go to work.

Funny enough, I'm used to abuse from other players but I just thought that this was pure rubbish gameplay from him.  I wont name anybody, but if he reads this he knows who I'm talkin about.  I can handle myself but man its only a game and some folk just cant grasp that.

Dont want any flames but I just wanted to get it off my chest.

I know exactly how you feel m8.

In all honesty, the best thing to do in these situations is type "/mute **charname**" and leave it at that.

Enemy npcs shoot at you with no warning, why should Rogues?  Because NPCs are heartless, and so are Rogues.  It's the RP, nothing personal.

I've become very fond of the /mute command.  :)

Some sensible advice. /mute is a beaut.....  As always, Savage - a gentleman and a scholar - how many others do you know that would have reached for the Screen Shot Button and have had the unfortunate cretin banned from the Void?  Thanks for pointing this out - sadly its nothing new.  We get an influx of those that dont bother to read the instructions and are probably not very bright either.

[R] - Rogue: Will attack you at random and without warning. Cannot tax and is defined by his solo & independant activity. Seen in groups where it suits their own design. Rogues are not to be trusted with ANYTHING.  Will frag other rogues and pirates as well as the occasional AT and Level 21 player when they are feeling particularly heartless.  

[X] - Pirate: Will attack you even if you are another pirate. Can tax but does not always give a warning (but they should realy). Tend to gather in Clans to cause mayhem and mischief throughout Sirius.  Will support allies and oppose Navy and Police.  Have been known to molest traders unless you are lucky enough to have "done a deal" with one or many of their allies - and even then its not set in stone so watch your hide....

I hope the miscreant that took the time to berate your poor performance in a Warran (which is a bit like an Anubis pilot telling an AT pilot that his PvP is cr*p..  ) and the sad people that didn't get the idea that this is actually a shooter server (with some good RP to boot!) can actually read the above personal defenitions as to what the R and X tag mean....!

Yep.  A lot of bad sports out there.  It bugs me a bit too hearing them whine when I'm killing in my Rouge charachter.  Last night a new player thanked me for attacking a Rouge that was attacking him.  I had to break the bad news to him that next time we meet, I'd be shooting at him.  He understoood and appreciated the clarification.

Some get it eventually, some don't.  And never will.

BTW:  Yes, the Waran handles like a drunk buffalo.  And the weapons mounts are not, er, optimal.

Nothing new.

Reading insults in system chat or private chat are unfortunately  part of Pirate and now Rogue RPs since I play this game.

And after long time I learned that only to ban them teach players how to play. So if I had a good day i just ignore, if I had not I push the SS and send to admin.

PD: What I like more are moaners (spammer, get a real ship, you lag, your speed is not normal, I cant hit your hull, etc.....) I love that guys, and there are a lot.

well most the people ive been fighting are still keeping the old ways alive.
encluding the [R]tags players- infact 1 took the trouble to GREEN me gf.
my point  is, dont despair there are good sports still about.

Its in the rules that you should type" gf" or good fight even if your out numbered and its not fair fight  I think most of the newer players dont look over the rules at all and just start playing the game strait from story mode  so they decide to kill some 1 and not think any thing of it eh

I should agree with some points you present here gentlemen but I think that it should be more fair if you should be "red dotted" as the other hostile npcs in the game.  Additionally to have some limitations in your armory.  You stay in aloof out of a jump gate and shoot with torpidoes whatever it is moving.
Nah...I don't think that it is fair.  A transporter should never be able to defent itself for many reasons. Low speed, undergraded weaponry,  and of course no experience in fighting techniques. Even a newbie who has got his first anubis and happy and smilling tries to fly around has no chance to survive. Do you expect for this to reply "gf"??? If it was me I should never could axcept that it was a "good fight".
You see transporters are usually newbies, who try to gather money to make their upgrades.  Also many of the players know that Freelancer is an explorer's game. I have to admit that I have used explorer to pinch my "littleones".... the interest for many things, therefore I consider this game, in high educational profile. I never thought (before I come in VOID) that it should be possible to be used into supporting gang killing or bulling ( I can justify what I say), or seeing an [R] out of Demosthenes planet where newbies mainly are making their VOID debut waiting to kill someone who has "passed over 49 level". Shame.
I don't know when was the last time that a shrink had visited the Void server to provide his professional assistance....but I suggest that it must be done as soon as possible....because many of us.... due to playing many hours freelancer...may have lost contact with the real world....and we have forgot that  life is not just ..."KILLING"

LOL what are you talking about?  A newbie at level 50?  HA HA The low level used to be set and still is at level 20 for the entire server.  You will never convince anyone here that a level 50 is a newbie.  The only level 50 that is a newbie is a player that had everything provided for him and didn't work for a living.  SHAME ON THEM!

A lot of players will give you the benefit of the doubt because you were born in 1922 or some era like that, but to me you are another player.  Telling us that the VOID needs a SHRINK well you are way off to make comments like that!  
And players dont lose contact with the 'real world' in VOID.  THE VOID is a GAME, NOT REAL!  You will never convince me you are an EXPLORER when all you're doing is going back and forth between 3 planets and systems, New Berlin, New London, and New Tokyo.  There's 64 systems total in this mod, GO EXPLORE if you're to call yourself an explorer!
