hello call me dumb or not but i cant workout
the /loc
i understand it comes up with my position
but to target is where i get lost
exsample
45k north
16k east
2k up  

is north the top south bottom
but east and west is it the way im looking at screen or the way my ship is facing on the map

also what is  up and down
plus the numbers have neg or pos

i have chased targets all over the place trying to figure this out  only to find they left the system on the other side of the map lol
i felt  like a noob until someone asked me the same questions

Looking at the in game systme map, North is the top of the map

south in turn is the bottom of the map

East is on the right hand side  of the map and west the left hand side of the map
Up down easy enough

so target is 45 k north of your position on the map and 16 k to the right hand side of the map and 2 k above your position.

Thanks for that Jase - I too had the same problem and thought I was loosing my marbles.......again...
