Speed Modding Ban?

Post by Megiddo »

I was flying in formation with a clanmate, when the a message appeared in the readout: You are being banned for speed modding.

Anyone have clue as to what this is about? the only mod I have activated is the Void mod.

Yes. Possibly a bug? And yes, the only active mod is the VOID mod.

Oh yes i was "banned" too yesterday.I was in my trade char-[AoF][T]Russell coming out of a jump gate when the server extremely laggy and then suddenly i read a message saying that i was banned for speed modding.

This seems absurd because i never used speed mod and its absolutely useless to have a speed mod.

Well the problem is fixed and i can connect to the server again but it seems when there is a lot of lag FLAC makes mistake.

BUT i couldnt come in-game for a few hours and this is not good if u are banned for nothing and have to bear the brunt of the punishement for nothing.

The only way to deal with this would be to reduce lag and be a bit more careful. :-?

Flac is the best.

As a continuing project Flac is regularly updated, what happened this time is that the new version uses a different, more accurate method of detecting people who are travelling faster than they should..however to properly facilitate this new method some serverside files needed to be changed and they hadn't been yet so a few false positives were inevitable.

Hopefully it should be sorted now and only the genuinely guilty should be having any problems...that said we are always prepared to listen if you think an automatic ban is in error.
