New Problem?

Post by Rogue2 »

I was working fine on v2 of this year.
Downloaded v3 and I could not get back on. I would get to selecting my ship and then I would CTD.
Now today I noted v4 (Aug2008) so I downloaded and it would not install, kept freezing. Uninstalled then reinstalled Mod manager and downloaded newest mod again. NOW when I open mod manager I get an error message saying --- There was problem while inspecting one or more mods in the /mods folder. Please read the log for further info.

Now here's the kicker--The mod is labeled as installed in the manager AND there is nothing in the log!!!

Would like to start flying again PLEASE HELP!!!

Welcome back bro! Like my new sig? Burn made it!

About your problem: try uninstalling everything, then reinstall it all but the mod again.
Download the mod, it comes in a WinRar file. (if I'm not mistaken) Unzip it onto your desktop. A FLMM icon will appear there. Doubleclick it and it will extract itself into FLMM. To be safe I always do a defrag and a restart.
EDIT:
When the mod is being activated, the progress bar might freeze up. Let it be for a second, the mod will still be activating. After a minute or two you will get a message saying the mod is activated.

Good luck and have fun in space.

P.S.: You might wanna change your avatar/sig. HKD is no longer in existence. Ask Burn for a sig if you want an Über-cool one like me!

Deactivate the mod and let it run its course to total deactivate. And you get the note confirming it in the log
close down the Mod manager - Important so it flushes the memory

open mod manager again
on bottom right corner, "stretch" out the mod manager display, so you have more log entries visible
Activate the mod and let it run its course - if theres an error you shouild see it.

If when you open the mod manager, and it says "there was a problem...", look at the log again and see what is logged. Quite often its freelancer.ini missing, because it deletes it from time to time :(
