Program Shutdown Issue

Post by TranzGemini »

I have been playing FL for a long while, only recently coming to The Void, thanks to a friend's suggestion.  I installed the mod into the mod manager (which I already had installed) and everything seemed fine, except that I started noticing a real slowdown in my computer after playing FL on The Void.  When I checked my Task Manager it shows that the program does not shut down, even after 15 minutes.   I have checked to see what else might be causing this issue, and the only mod it does this with is The Void (the newest version, not sure if the old one did it as I did not check).  Here's a screenshot of the Task Manager after 15+ minutes after closing FL.

Any insight into this issue would be appreciated as it gets very tiresome having to manually shut down FL via the Task Manager.

I have the very same issue m8. My CPU usage sometimes goes up to 100%.And the program keeps running according to task manager. Wouldn't know how to solve it m8. Tried 2 complete reinstalls, no effect.

Thanks Maverick, hopefully someone knows how to fix this...it is a real pain in the well...you know.  I seldom run anything while playing, except Winamp, which is an older version, not the new bloatware one.  Very little CPU usage and the thing hangs whether or not any other program is running.  Something hasn't released a program hook, I just don't know enough about programming to figure out just what it is. :-??

There are a million reasons why a program wont close properly after you apparently exit it..

It would take weeks to go through them all..

However since you seem tech savvy enough to know how to use your taskmanager I'd suggest simply using taskmanager to kill the process once you've finished playing. Chances are the next time you update your video drivers this problem will go away anyway

Thanks Gents, I have been and will continue to do so...unless someone actually figures out what the hook is that is hanging it up, so I can fix the problem.  I had hoped someone had figured it out, but oh well.
