Your Nick

[Maverick]

Since we got a whole arsenal of nick names here on the forum, I thought it would be cool if we posted about how we got our nicks. Why did we choose that specific one and what does it mean?

I bet we will see a lot of funny and interesting explanations.

I will start:

Vocabulary translation:
"maverick" - non-conformistic, dissident, unorthodox, erratic, different.

That translation pretty much sums up the guy I am in RL. I often choose my own way of doing things, with no or little regard for other people their opinion of my action. I have always followed my own path and did things in my own - sometimes different - way. Since I'm just being me here on the forums and in game, I bet this might have shimmered through here too. These characteristics go pretty well with the description of my Zodiac sign, which is Aries. And I personally think the word just 'mouths' nice lol.

That's where 'maverick' comes from and why I have chosen it as my nick here.

I got no idea where the Nomad part came off, probably cause i like the faction alot.

[Kosmiker]

I came out with the nickname Kosmiker from scratch. Not sure how, i think was something like Kosmik + Er (from petER my first name). I have this nickname for so long (10 years maybe more) that if I google it most of websites are mine lol.

Curiously, it was after some googling that I found out that there was some kind of group of german philosophers/writters on XIX century called "Kosmiker Kreis" (cosmic circle?? not sure), I found it rather interesting because it seems it have some relation with Nietzsche, that I kind like.

[Ryus]

Ryus is an amalgation of my first and last names phonetically (when you pronounce it how it is usually said here anyway), and it looks pretty darn close to the japanese word for dragon which is kinda cool.

[StumpDiZ]

Stumpdiz is a nickname given to me by my friends. Originally it was stumpy because of my build (short and stocky). As time passed, along with parties and many many stupid things we all do as teenagers, i acquired stumpdiz... lol

well where do i start ay -

madderz = shortened form of maddog(HMMM the shortened form seems to have more letters in it) which i got in 1996 in germany where i was seen to be a complete nutter firstly  as i electrocuted a thief in the barracks block, he got jailed for theft and i got an electricians bill hey ho.

secondly under fire i did nothing but laugh in 1999 in kosovo.

thirdly whilst clearing a minefield again in kosovo 1999 i defused a mine and decided that i would jump on it after in front of the american army, the ran like fuck and i was giggling for ages

fourthly i tend to have a bad habit of going eh hows the phrase hmmmm "parading in my birthday suit" after i had a few beers and then decide town centre fountains are good places to have a jacuzzi.

fifthly started a street riot in sonderborg denmark all over a woman lol was a dam good night.

the list goes on but again hey ho its all good fun thats how madderz came to be and lets not go into my void exploits ahem the most ganged person in void but all good fun EXTERMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol i got Thorn by... i have no idea how i got Thorn it just kinda clicked i was looking all over, at packs of smokes coca cola bottles everytihgn and then for some reason Thorn clicked and it sounded cool with some [X]Thorn[X] in there so i just piked it lame story but true

[Jase-Katar]

Jase Katar- intrestingly he is a complete fabrication , His names come from two games, Jase was one of the characters I read in one of the Star Wars games, Alliance or Dark Forces, Katar was after the DC comics hero Hawkman( Katar Hall), not my favorite hero, but his persona was dark, and mysterious, Jase Katar came to life while I was playing Star Wars Galaxies online he was a pretty good Jedi, then switched him to bounty hunter, then smuggler, and finally back to Jedi. The story line for Jase, has changed several times, but in all Jase stands firm as being a survivor of the Hispania, from the exedous against the Coalition. As of now the story has evovled to include his brother and now father.

Markus- How he came to be, was I needed a dark side for Jase, Markus was everything Jase could not be. Why the name Markus, it sounded right at the time.

Blood Rage- the thrid and final time I have become a REAVER. Blood Rage is the backdrop of the current vampire/reaver storyline I am running, unfortunatly, I for the life of me cannot figure out how I put them together.

XENON - Name Origin: From the Greek word xenon (stranger)
i liked the gas element , im always interested about how this gas is obtained from liquid air and finally can light lamps and stuff very much better than normal light ^^

My nick comes from my first name in which i replaced the  last letter with 'x'.I don't why i did that,and it has stuck with me for 3 years.

[Gr8-Lizard]

Godzilla aka Gr8-Lizard comes from  few yrs ago ,when i decided "Better without smoking" Most impressive result was a 20 kilo+on my normall weight.So, when i choosed a nick 4 net, i realised i am like Godzilla, only colour dont mach, so, be it :Godzilla Later, when weight was fixed somehow, i decided nick will remain.
When i tryed register it on void, it was a problem, so i choosed Gr8-Lizard, cause Godzilla is /was some great lizard.

stoertebecker-
famous pirate of the 14th century. Part of folklore in Hamburg. As I hail from that city, and started here as a pirate, it was a logical choice

well i have MANY nicks....

[X]Titanium_Crusher[X] : taken from the Name of my First ship on VOID : TC a.k.a Titanium Crusher
[X]Jack_Sparrow[X] : Fan of him
[X]Salim_Nomad_Killer : coz i hate em opposite of -=SYN=-Nomad  :D
Then it came my first clan (which never evolued due to the leader's inactivity)
[-CDF-]>PVT<McViper : after discussion with BL Warped , i dunno how he found this nick , but i very liked the Mc prefix then added it to Viper=McViper
The prefix "Cpt or Captain" came after my RP stories , so i begun to work as a captain killing avils etc...
Then The -=REAVERS=- , most of my nicks changed :
-=REAVERS=-Titanium : wanted to restart the nostalgic nick , then i reduced tianium crusher to Titanium
-=REAVERS=-McViper : he will still all my life
-=REAVERS=-Tornado : when i see -=REAVERS=- members nicks , i wanted to stay at the same context as em , so i choosed Tornado , unfortunally there is an old veteran called BBD Tornado , then all guys confused btw me and him :S ; but i met with the True Tornado( ) and we found a solution to our prob ...unfortunally , when we arrived to solve our prob , we found a thrid Tornado ROFLMAO !!! This char is the most used one.
-=REAVERS=-MadMan : after a discussion with one of my friends on Xfire , i found the nick MadMan , cool nick anyway
-=REAVERS=-Dante : we all know Devil Maycry , i took the Nick from the Devil Dante , plus it works with the -=REAVERS=- Side : The Dark one

That's all my old and new nicknames ; waw what a nostalgic to remind my well old nicks thank u Mav , it makes me crying
