Enemy NPC's

Post by Jackelsano »

I'm sorry but my patience for the Void is now thin, because I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out a way to New York back from Babylon (and Babylon itself took me 30 minutes to get out of as well!) because NPC's just jump out of nowhere for their only purpose to ruin your day.

I was heading to Planet Leonnatus in the Alexandra System, it was empty. All of a sudden 3 Nomad Valkyrie ships appear out of nowhere and start fighting the local patrols, I move 1 freaking metre and the Nomads suddenly ignore the patrols and head straight for me! What is this place?

Me and my friend have recently started trading because of the difficulty to earn money, we get in the markets and start selling some goods and before you know it we get Armored Transports. The trip to Babylon to get these ships was annoying. Take a wild guess... A Nomad Battleship with 5 Valkyries appeared out of nowhere!

The trip back to Alexandria was even more annoying as Pirates... Appeared out of nowhere! This seems to be the case in every damn system besides New York. Why is it so hard to make a couple of thousand credits without some stupid Nomad jumping in our face and blasting us with its terribly overpowered guns..

You guys really have to fix this because a few friends of mine have really had it. We can't stand wasting time trying to figure out how to get away from enemy NPC's, because it's pointless anyway!

Sorry about the griefing, but I really can't stand it..

Hehe m8, I'll just say that nobody likes BL here, and the same goes for npc's  :P
Npc's are a pain, I agree, but now they are much easier comparing to the time when 2112v5 mod started...

the Nomads have a high presence in Alexandria because they have something of value in the system (aswell has they lore wise have a connection to Sparta and Alex is the closest system from sparta to the other colonies.)

the Pirates were driven out of the normal house colonies and into Europe, where they have thrived and regularly are raiding the Babylonian tradelanes.

(I'v got some tricks on how to avoid them, but you'll gett them on the BL forum)
I would love to keep in touch with people from the Void if you ever transfer onto other games. Feel free to contact me one:

Guys, I was not talking about Black Legion. And sorry get used to it mate, we're here to stay....  :|

And plus you're stating that my sanity is controlled by a bunch of player made stories?

Look I see plenty of Nomad Hives in Alex, so just keep them around that area.. It makes more sense, and it doesn't drive traders mad. And also Mr. Rleone if you want to complain about clans, take it in the thread that was meant for clans..

Also. QUASAR...... You read my mind.. RAINBOW TROLOLOL, that makes me happy now :D

You didn't need to go to Babylonia for an AT. You have not been here since 2008 I think you said?  The trade run is pretty much the same as the last time you were here and we all have to encounter some kind of enemy faction npc's in our trek to make credits for decent ships and decent weapons so we can exact our revenge on them for making our trading a chore. :D

Look, this is my first time trading. Last two years have been pure, simple combat. No trading, until I found out about it today because of a friend of mine and made a bucket load of creds.

And how was I supposed to know where an AT was, I never knew we had an AT. Plus my trading friend told me about it. That's what this is about, trading not getting a fisilade of guns equal to a gunships power and AT's don't have shields, so Asmodeus do you really expect me to go head on against Pirates and Nomads with only an AT and a few Stealthblade MK1 turrets?

And since 2008 I have just been doing combat, that's it. I never really explored the Void completely. Only when a kind [VOID] staff member kindly warped me around and shown me the various landmarks and wonderful sights of the Void.

But really how do you get around with Nomads and Pirates. One metre and they ignore all current combat and head straight for you... It's like you stepped on some intergalactic twig!

You guys took the long way to the Babylonia gate using the Alexandria Trade lanes and of course along the way you have encountered hostile npcs.(perfectly normal)
Now there are two other routes to get to Babylonia much quicker one even through Alexandria and the other via Sparta.
What i would advise you is to explore this place and get more familiarised to it.

You can avoid and even escape Pirates/Nomads while in a Armored Transport and the fact that you were two gave you a greater chance to do so.
If you solo encounter a patrol of 4 Valkyre N1 Nomad ships or 4 Pirate Sabres ships then yes it is very hard to escape and you might want to F1 out.
However a patrol of Nomad Battleships+Nomad Cruiser is easy to avaoid unless you flight straight towards them.Same for Pirate Battleship+ two Sabre patrol.

There's much you have to learn.

It doesn't help when the NPC's jump right in your face after transit from a TL

Tbh I hate nomads in their valkyries blazing at me and the language used in my house when this happens is enough to make a docker blush, BUT whilst trading thru the Alex gates when they appear in their big bubblegum ships they tend to leave me alone and if they do take a sly swipe it is advisable to use NANOBOTS.
Also there are still nice kind members of staff here that will help and advise but there is'nt a cat in hells chance that they will warp you around the place to show you the many landmarks. You will have to do what EVERY player here does and explore.

He he. I missed some news I think. BL and 4S are enemy?
You or I do not play on the same server, coz 4S often support the BL no matter you're outnumbered. :D

But back, Jackelsano is right, for new players and for traders without experience - without reputation, is at the moment the Void and the presence of NPC in Alex very hard.
