"SETUP.exe" is not a win32 recognized operation???

Post by LiTD »

I need help with this. Right now I cannot even re-install Freelancer. I have an original game disk.

Win32? I have inquired and searched now 30+ forums and Wiki itself, I cannot, and am not clear as what the hell this means or how to fix it.

Any and all usefull information is greatly appreciated. thank you

It could be you Anti Vi as i don't use  sunbeltsoftware.  The ones that i know work fine with Freelancer are Avira free ( http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus) And Avast. If it is your Anti Vi you will need to completely uninstall it (not just stop it running) as they have a tendency to leave coding behind.
Also still not much detail, did you completely uninstall freelancer first? what precisely happens when you try to re-install  Freelancer......

first .. the antivirus worked with both FL and FLMMv1.3 and other mods. The issue now is that when I insert game disk it tells me "program is not a sys32 operation" ..

Yes I did a complete uninstall and I did a register clean up as well. There is no trace of the game haveing been on. Also when I insert disk no files are being read.

cuandray ... ?!?!?!? ... When I used the disk on another computer it worked just like it supposed to.

Is it possible for me to copy files extract them all and then compress and burn a disk to de-compress on this computer?

You can try but some of the dll files have to be installed not just read. You may be ok as the game was installed before and the files where registered. You could try reverting your comp to a time freelancer was in and working, then reinstall it.

Windows firewall was not active at that time and yes FL had been fwall approved. I guess i'll try my slash, and smash method but I do have another comp, to be hoenest the other comp was not my own just one I had access to.

I am now on mine so maybe we will be up and running soon.
