EDIT: i have had one reply saying that have you applied any arctic silver 5 or similar... which is basically a cooling substance that also improves performance or something, read about it here: http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm

well they seem to think that if you dont have arctic silver 5 or similar between the heatsink and the CPU, then they think that the CPU will be overheating and thus not functioning properly.

I have got more replies and they have said to try the "XP Dual Core Hotfix" which you can download from microsoft from Here!

Also, the guy wrote this:

If the CPU is well below 100% utilisation (you can check each core separately) and the CPU temperature is below around 80C then it is unlikely that the CPU is the problem. If the utilisation is at 100% then you can use Task Manager to see of other processes are using substantial CPU time. If the temperature is 90C or more then the CPU may be throttling in order to control its temperature. The right amount of thermal paste is critical. None is no good and too much is probably worse. It just needs to be a very thin layer.

Hi.

I would think that it's something to do with your video card, as I have had similar issues with my ATi cards' newest drivers recently.

The frame per second is otherwise high, but occasionally, usually every few seconds, it grinds to 0 and then back up, which appeared as a nudging/stuttering kind of effect.

Try reinstalling your GFX drivers, if this doesn't help, try installing the unofficial Omega Catalyst drivers for your GFX card. It may or may not help.

Also make sure you have the fix for dual core's, mentioned on the previous page.

This is also a possible cause, unless you don't get the same issue elsewhere.
