Cort touched on it, but nobody seems to want to expand it any further.  So I will, but I will keep it as positive as possible.

About 2 or so years ago a clan called DTA (Death To All) caused serious chaos in Sirius especially at the 5 gates at Alex.  Nobody was safe to travel through this part of the black.  Nearly all clans that were on that night, would join together to try and null the threat of the DTA and make it safe for traders to travel.  The key to the success of the clan was a few things.

We all were connected through Teamspeak so we could call for help or take instructions without having to stop and type out stuff.

We flew in group of between 5 and 8 most nights so we had strength in numbers.

We had the utmost respect for the leader and co leader who were amazing at pvp and amongst the best pvpers to fly here.

The one thing the clan did was unite other players, whether it be in fear of travel or actual hatred towards our style of gameplay or a determination to get the better of us.  Players would log on specifically to try and challenge us.  Such was the impact DTA had on the server that when the crap hit the fan, players actually were complaining to each other of the lack of threat and excitement.

But things turned sour and eventually the clan was disbanded and later banned from the void.  After some time  nearly all members of the clan came back and played here for a while (some still do), and even tried to create a new clan but it was doomed to fail before it got up and running.  SOME members of the clan seemed determined to cause problems for other players and werent really playing the game the way alot of people thought it should be played, and were also causing grief for other players on the forums.  In the end it was probably the best outcome for those players to move on and leave behind the memories of the great battles we used to have.

I think everybody would agree that the idea of DTA was a great one, but things got out of hand and went too far and so the situation had to be addressed sooner or later.  It has too be mentioned that the admin were split in their opinions of DTA and in the end the clan were, unofficially, given as many chances as was possible before action had to be taken.
I always had the feeling that the majority of the members of DTA were admired for their love of the game, but also caused frustration in the way the played it (especially towards the end of the clans time here).

I have tried to keep it short and sweet and not to dwell too much on  info that would cause flames. I have tried to keep it pretty much neutral.  It is not my intention to drag up the past and paint a rosy picture of the situation.

Hopefully this post will be kept , so that new members can learn from us and even learn from our mistakes.  Please no flames.

Cheers, SAVAGE (former DTA member).

A slight bit off-topic, but:
I wasn't here when DTA was, but I read and listened to the - almost legendary - stories. And although most versions of the DTA story are tainted by negativism of one kind or another, there was obviously more to it than only bad stuff. They left an impression one way or another, and still linger in the memories of many Void player. They have their own page in the history book of this great server. And I can honestly only hope that there will one day be another clan which will be able to unite players of the Void the same way DTA did in its good days.

DTA fit into the problems of the server, trying to paint a "wasnt it great when DTA were here" is stupid. More players left during DTA's activities than at any other time. And when you have players becoming so arrogant that they call the VOIDS and Admins in game and on their website, that about sums them up.

File DTA in the box marked, "Broke the rules and were banned", along with Rolls et al. Sometimes people try and think their bigger than the server. DTA is another clan off to wreck someone elses server now, after trying to wreck The Void.

Even when they came back, they couldnt stop being arrogant and argumentative, hence the second ban. I dont need them here and neither do 99% of the players interested in the future of the server, community and The Void.

:-? Mmm, that does paint a completely different image of them. I obviously didn't know that so many people left during their stay. That's something that can't be talked right in any way.
Well maybe we should leave the DTA topic at this.

I often wonder how we (the second or third generation of players) will be talking about the recent past in a few years. Would we be talking about clans like Black Legion, Dacia, ESF, Orion, and maybe Reavers? Or would we still be talking about the clans who first were here, and were the first ones to make an impression.

I keep track of this thread. And reading it, you quickly realize that a lot of memorable things have happened in the last few years back. I wonder if the clans of present day could be able to leave the same impression as some of the old ones... To be a clear milestone in the clan history of Void.

Time will tell I suppose.

tbh, Ive only ever really had views on PvP'ers. So im gunna list the guys i think were the best.

Ent - My teacher... Such a great guy And will always remember him whipping my butt over and over in sparta while i was learning.

Const - Great guy, Always fun to fly with.

Ziki - Back in the days was just such a great eagle flyer. Really enjoyed my time flying with him.

Shonen - Great guy... Fantastic PvP'er No one makes me sweat more when fighting and you know your gunna kill so many players when flying with him.

Bers - Great guy and another absolutely great PvP'er

Pants - Best boxer... Period.

DTA - Such good fun, Really enjoyed fighting them at the gates. was a good laugh having so many DTA on my ass xD.

Majestik, Zy, Ripper - The original BBD lot and just fantastic guys and players :D.

There are more but these are the guys that stick out in my memory. These are the guys i respected most highly during my time as a PvP'er.
