Well I have to say, I've been here for about month... So I can't really relate to seeing the behavior slide. But I'd like to show you all something, for all the people out there who have a problem spelling that use Firefox.

Tools - Options... - Advanced - Check my spelling as I type

Just like Microsoft Word, but on your Internet Browser!  ;)

And I also just want to say thanks to all the Void Admins as well... It must kinda suck to be the ones that have to give up their gaming time to sort out other peoples petty squabbles. Which is why admire your hard work, and thank you for making the Void a happier place for everyone.  :x

Only one spelling mistake in this post! Only because I abbreviated "Admin"... Dam, make that two spelling mistakes.

Much love!

Well safe to say my few months away made me more on the mature side of the teens...lol

Unfortunately me being me i got to disagree with the clan part...
I fail to see much created out of the clans in the main, apart from a group of players getting together under a tag and to be honest, I don’t see much role play by those who advocate that that’s the way to go.
They are what is the heart of fun here.... Without the clans i couldnt even think what it would be like... Safe to say i doubt we will ever find out what it would be like...

anyway,

My thanks to all the server staff at the void, you have done a Stellar job (bad pun).  I admit to having been a pain at times because of the frustration with  selected few bad apples but twice I have been netless and have always returned to the Void. While I love the freedom here and would like to see more RP, I also see the need for responsible oversight, anarchy makes it hard to have a fun atmosphere.  While I agree players should be able to do as they please the should also be sanctions in game that mimic reality.  If you insist on being a rogue and or pirate be prepared to be limited to which bases you can use what ships or equipment may be available to you.  Pirates and rogues always exist but their existance is on a razors edge you can act with impunity for as long as the damage you do is outweighed by the cost of an exhaustive manhunt. Knowing that the solution I propose is no mean feat of programming, within the framework of the game, i'll throw my two cents worth in:

If there were a way to make players have a rating within the game similar to factions; so if a player is a severe enough nuisance even to other players within a preset framework, they would find their life alot like a real rogue or pirate.   When  you do enough damage few if any ports will allow you access, you would be hunted by any and all capable hunter, police, navy, and or mercenary units as well as other players.  Also what ports you would have access to would charge you outrageous sums for simple items at times.  For those of you already with flaming vitriolic replies waiting to be posted, kindly remember one thing:  A retired successful pirate, rogue or privateer was far outnumbered by those imprisioned, killed in combat or executed.

IF YOU WANT TO CALL THE TUNE YOU HAVE TO PAY THE PIPER

I'm new around here, heck, I'm so new I haven't even gotten logged into the Void Server! (working on that! - got Vista and bad downloads).
I'm posting because this is a common problem in all multi-player online games.

So, Strail & Company, unlike a lot of multi-player games, the VOID Server is your community. You have the final say on who is on/in the VOID server/community. And you're right to put your foot down on this bad behavior, what I refer to as the Halo attitude.
I'm happy to see leaders and admins supporting you, and I look forward to my clan joining your community.

What most young people, and some old farts, tend to forget is that (community) is why we play multi-player. We're playing it for community and teamwork, for the fellowship. We humans are communal beings at heart. Sure, we love competition, but it's not the end all, be all, of existence. Even the most egotistical player (read: Hitler) wants his accomplishments to be more than seen, he wants them appreciated by his community.

I think if everyone, and I mean the greater majority of players, refused to play multi-player with rude, immature people, and refused to allow them into the community because of their behavior, they'd all be playing Halo! Unfortunately, it takes big events to get most people to share their feelings: likes/dislikes.  Most of the 'good' people don't say much until it's too late. And I think the good people vastly outnumber the bad.

Now, I'm all for taking a new player and helping him grow, but you have to have something to start with... let's call it a 'seed' of character. And without role models how can they develop these seeds? Spare the rod, spoil the child. And although it's been pointed out that it's just a game, some of that behavior DOES happen at home, and in the real community, and it's endemic of the way the world is going. If we don't work against it, it will overcome society in the end. And any good online game is, a small microcosm of society.

Good to see that the Server-Staff have no fear in saying what they think , some admins would just tolerate this to keep the players number high...I for my part , have seen 7 cases of flame in 2 days i played...it's a very high rate in my opinion...I see alot of polite talking and helpful acting , but kids like grown people can0't shut their mouth when they get killed in PVP. Some people , instead of moaning about some one cheats of uses bugs or what ever , should go practice , and find out what the enemy has got what you havent , and we are not talking about cheats my little kiddies no...We are talking about Skills that you gain by playing for a good long time...Im getting away from my point once again...

Dear stuff and dear non flaming players , all of you are great , and you are macking me enjoy the stay at this server! To the flamers and whiners! F*ck *ff and leave.

Its funny because people can tell someones age by telling out how they spell, but its quite smart too, it works effectively on servers all the time plus its simple to rat out all the kids because they are all into the 1337 chat thing and also figures like.. lol, omg, omfg, g2g and so fourth.
